DRiddle

Just an additional point regarding this if I may.

Currently, as the article says, Hartlepool has a surplus (profit) from car parking charges of £476,000 for the year 2014/15.

Would anyone be interested in a look at how that stacks up in profit/loss compared to other areas around the North in the year 2014/15?

Allow me...

Durham £101,000
Middlesbrough £180,000
Sunderland -£469,000
North Yorkshire £446,000
Gateshead £119,000

So that's £377,000 in surplus/profit in parking charges from Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Gateshead and the whole of North Yorkshire combined.

Yet in little old Hartlepool ALONE, the surplus is £476,000. So HBC is better off in terms of profits from car parking by £100,000 MORE this year than the car parking profits of Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, North Yorkshire and Gateshead combined.

Does anyone get the feeling we're being cheated?
