Just drove Lucy's patent tumbril back along Tees Road whilst returning from Stockton. On the outskirts of Seaton (where the new construction work begins) not only is there a vast stretch of single carriageway complete with temporary traffic lights, but also a surface worthy of a recently ploughed field.  Great fun with a large truck barely inches behind me...

for fawkes sake

A clearway for migrating frogs, perhaps?
