Answer to a request regarding Mayoral Charity Accounts......

Further to your request for information, I can advise that the council has not funded directly any payments and that the funding received was from fundraising activities undertaken by each mayor as follows:-

2010/11 £248.50
2011/12 £863.50
2012/13 £40,000.00
2013/14 £44,450.00
2014/15 £33,614.62
2015/16 £12,512.96
2016/17 £22,770.26
2017/18 £21,679.47

I was rather hoping they would attach the actual accounts...Money In....Money Out......where it came from a where it ended up.

Exactly Fred, where is the money paid to when it is not a registered charity or business ?
I can't see how  bank account could exist without formal registration.
I don't believe it.

People who have contributed directly or indirectly to such fundraising activities have the right to know how the money was spent and be itemised.
Transparency is essential.
I cannot understand why it would not be.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

ooooh, you fibber  ;D
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment

I'd hazard a guess as to where some of it, at least, has gone.  New cars, cruises, Far East holidays, champagne, posh cakes!  But then that's just me being cynical!

Speaking from a personal point of view, if I wanted to donate to charity I would donate it to said charity directly and not via a local politician......and certainly not in Hartlepool.
