The Great Dictator

This would be an ideal opportunity for RIDDLE to take steps in council to BAN any councillor from obtaining council contracts.

"Cleveland Police made their first arrests in the case in 2013 after a council audit concluded the financial management of the association was inadequate."

Can I just reiterate that the above which appears as part of The Mail story on Wilcox is a complete misrepresentation of what happened. It infers that the initial arrest was prompted by HBC after an audit carried out by themselves 'was inadequate'

Several months lapsed after the council 'audit' which had concluded that, apart from a few procedural changes in administration, everything was fine at Manor Residents. That allowed Wilcox to carry on with her fraudulent activities for months afterwards.

It looks like there has been another one of those phone calls to Joy Yates from the council's PR Department which start with the words "I've been thinking how we can handle this, Joy" and what they are going for is to push the idea that it was HBC itself which reported Wilcox to the Police straight after the audit - absolutely not true. If HBC could have waved a wand and made the whole thing go away, irrespective of what Wilcox had done, that's exactly what they would have done.

Why Riddle? Why not e-mail one of your own 3 Councillors to do just that or walk next door and ring his bell?

I seem to remember questions were asked in full council about Healthwatch being awarded the contract, the guide lines were ignored ie. 2 years audited acounts from a bidder, anything over £100,000 should go out to tender.

The Great Dictator

It would be good publicity for RIDDLE, he needs all he can get.

Let's leave the headlines in the paper to Angie herself. She's front page again today and as she's (hopefully) sent down for a stretch for a multitude of offences in December, the Nationals will be all over it.

Bound to get a mention in private eye again too, which will be the third or 4th related to this corruption in some way or other.

Are we allowed to call it corruption now?

Of course we are, people on this site have been calling it corruption for 4 or 5 years.

This week has just confirmed it. The council contained an element within it which was rabidly corrupt.

That's no longer an opinion.

It's a fact proven in a court of law.

This forum & many of it's users have been banging the MRA corruption drum for donkey's years & now it has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt.

The problem in all of this, was convincing HBC of the problems that exist within the council, for HBC avoiding any embarrassing scandals has been & still is a priority.

You need look no further than the Peer Group Review, that document wasn't easily available for public consumption, when it did become available the were various criticisms & recomendations by the review body, some were implimented but many of the major points were simply ignored.

Looking back over the last 4 to 5 years the lack of integrity & moral bounderies by some elected councillors have been glaringly obvious, the town has had to endure the ignomy of half a dozen or more appearances in Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs..... if that doesn't tell you something nothing will.

Wilcox should look on the bright side. In early December she's unlikely to have to pay the 'bedroom tax' anymore.   ;)

Just out of curiousity, I googled 'Charity Trustees' and found lots of info...very interesting reading!  Will the two (ex) Trustees be asked to appear as 'witnesses'?  I've heard that one of them is on holiday just now.  Strange how certain people seem to disappear just when the $*@t hits the fan, innit!

love you fred
and and not in biblical sense
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment

Were there any trustees ? If not, what was the purpose of theses people being there ?
You either are or you aren't .
So exactly who was overseeing this 'organisation' ?
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

To some people, saying they are aTrustee makes them feel important  :) :) :)

Even at the time it was blindingly obvious....... No one, absolutely No one.

What sas the 'DEAL'made to avert a trial ? And how thd hell did jeffries get off with it ?  No blooming justice !!

steveL

The story goes that Wilcox had pretended to be Jeffries, acting as guarantor, when making a phone application for a loan while she was already on bail. If Jeffries took umbridge at this and decided to sing like a canary as a result then this could well be the foundation of any deal. It's only conjecture but it seems like a strong possibility to me.
