I have been wondering myself for some time and then I turned on the radio just before 9 this morning.
He was spouting on R4 how good the Nissan news is for his region.

Political spin for saying what a s**t job he has done for his own town.
He is so good to clinging to other people's good news as his town rots.
I guess his personal agenda is what protects the bad behaviour of the questionable mob.

What's interesting is right now Iain's public profile nationally has never been higher. I was talking with a Labour Party member about this recently. Whatever you think of him, the outcomes concerning his dealings with Phillip Green and Mike Ashley will be good for hard working people. Sports Direct are getting their house in order and Green will probably lose his knighthood and some of the BHS money. Iain, to his credit, has played his part in facilitating that. But right when his stature as an MP has never been higher due to fighting for workers rights,  he's about to get binned by a local Labour group most of whom don't work for a living.

Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for him. It just shows you the vindictive nature of politics even within your own party. People have been crying out for Wright to do something meaningful for years, he finally does something, and he'll get binned by the likes of Carl and M.D for his trouble.

He point blank refused to get involved with, or speak up for, the people Angie was robbing at MRA. He knew what went on but it was in his interests to totally ignore the situation.
So I for one will not be shedding a single tear if it happens to him.

As an aside you are starting to get too close to your food. Never forget the people who are being civil to you today will not hesitate (when so ordered) to dump on you from a great height.

The one issue that boils my p**s more than any other about Wright & The LabMob is the fact, not one of them have offered 1 word of support, nor 1 word of condemnation for the treatment Lynda Gooding & her colleagues were subjected to.

I for one would have no problem if all councillors used part of their "Ward Allowances" to pay the Manor 4 their tribunal awards..........I believe it amounted to around £20,000, whats that split 33 ways.

Rather that than "Free Burgers & Hotdogs at the Rifty Fun Weekend

It's a relatively small number of people being civil to me, and it doesn't change my long held views on the Labour group. Their front bench I have no time for, and back bench mutes who say nothing in exchange for £500 a month I have even LESS respect for.

I meant what I said about socialism last night. I'd love to see more of it from them. Local socialism that actually impacts on local people's lives meaningfully. Not the kind of 'socialism' that allows a certain select few to fill their boots at other peoples expense.

It's Vicar of Bray syndrome, 'whosoever the King may be, I'll be the vicar of Bray sir" goes the song. He has recently stepped into the limelight briefly at  a national level, but prior to that his relationship with his local party appeared seamless.
The reaction to the hospital changes told me all I needed to know.
What has he actually achieved at a local level?

He's been doing the newsrooms lately talking about Nissan. He was on Channel 4 News last night.

He's always struck me as a low profile foot soldier.
A bit like the breakwater, there but not really noticed till a storm breaks, but only one has made a difference when it matters.

You don't need rhyming slang. Just use the proper name (Cnut)of the King we know as Canute!

Well he's been holding the tide back for years, but no one told the tide. And when you're vertically challenged the tide can be a nuisance.

Spoke very well on the BHS saga on Sky News tonight

Hardly a difficult job considering the subject in question.
