I’m am an English man born and bred, and I’m writing after watching what I can only describe as the worst anti immigration Question Time from the BBC,  I include the ultimately childish and ignorant boos from members of the audience when the Polish woman spoke up.  Brexit has really brought English ignorance to fore front, the only people speaking any common sense on the panel were Greek economist Yanis Varoufakis, and the Pro-European Conservative, Ken Clarke.

I have to say that from the outset, this recent  and ultimately historic EU referendum vote was introduced by David Cameron in a bid to appease the Tory Euro sceptics in his party, this referendum was not announced for the benefit of the people of this country to have a vote on whether we come fully out, or go fully into the EU..  This is a myth which backfired on David Cameron spectacularly!

Since this vote was held, the English largely, being the least politically interested, educated or motivated in the Western World, voted for “out”, and now close to 4 million people have signed an internet Petition to hold a second referendum, and a new Poll shows that more than a million of the leave voters now regret their choice, and tens of thousands of people marched in London on Saturday 2/7, to protest at the Brexit vote and placards waved in friendship to our European neighbours.

In the wake of this devastating referendum result, there are now over 17 million people who find themselves and their country on the verge of making a catastrophically ill advised leap into the dark.

17 million of the national electorate voted to leave the EU, yet there are over 65 million of us living here, of whom almost as many voted to stay. Our 16-17 year olds, unable to vote, have made it abundantly clear, that if they were afforded the rights of their brothers and sisters in Scotland, they would have overwhelmingly voted to remain a part of the EU.

Also according to polling Data from You-Gov, 75 per cent of 18 to 25 years olds voted to remain in the European Union, the UK vote to leave was 52% of the overall vote,  I make the generalisation that it is the younger generations who voted to go fully into the EU, while their parents and grandparents voted out.

For decades Social Europe have had a Social Charter that has incorporated massive influence over UK Employment Laws and Rights at Work, but our Tory Government’s right wing ideological stance is against such rights, which is why way back in the 1980’s Margaret Thatcher wouldn’t take us into Europe due to its Social Charter, and decades of right wing Tory rule have chipped away at it, workers rights for instance.

To say I feel sorry for the younger generations of my country is an understatement, not only because many aren’t eligible to vote, but their parents and grandparents have had their day over 30 years on from Margaret Thatcher who began what’s been happening today under David Cameron and George Osborne, and the result, over a million people using Foodbanks....

In my view this vote was an anti immigrant vote, because the English largely, have little or no knowledge of Europe’s Social and economic culture, or Europe’s effects on us, and again In my view,  this in/out European referendum vote has divided our country just like the Thatcher era did, and we remain divided, while locked into our little Englander bubble.

The Brexit audience in this edition of Question Time, and the wider field across the UK, have made a huge mistake, because the ramifications of Britain breaking all connections with Europe, are going to be felt when jobs are being lost here in Britain,  and those among the audience who boo’d the Polish lady should be darn well ashamed of themselves...

She was booed because here claims were none sense

She was booed by an audience that was aggressive and intolerant. Booed because she was Polish and because she was an uppity woman.  By the type of people who make up UKIPs core vote. White males of low educational standard. The C2,D & E group

Just curious were you there?

I wasn't but watching it on you tube and speaking to friends and family that's not their analysis of what happened.

Again and again it seems anyone who voted for Brexit is a racist. I voted for Brexit because I think we should control who is allowed to enter our country I don't give a rats ar** where they come from or what colour they.

Nobody would listen to the majority, so we voted.

It gets a bit boring to have to constantly hear I am considered to be a retarded racist because I am worried about the future of Britain instead of the socialist republic of Europe.

If we had been given option to gave a common market , which is what was voted for in the early 80's I would have accepted that.

Jonathan Brash

Well I was there and here's my perspective.

1. The majority did not boo.
2. Of the minority it was clear that some who booed did so because they disagreed with her, although when I disagreed my hand when up to contribute and I never booed anyone. Personally I think booing someone because you disagree is a rather odd and not altogether edifying way to conduct oneself.
3. No one really took the time to consider what she said, i.e. She was expressing how she has FELT since the Brexit vote. How a person feels is not really something to agree or disagree with, but rather to try to understand. One presumes she is not imagining these feelings and we would do well, as a compassionate society to try to work out why she has ended up feeling this way.
4. There was a small minority who were nasty, hostile, boorish, ill-informed and, in some cases, absolutely racist in their attitudes and behaviour. And i am afraid we am seeing this more and more in society. Imagine you were a polish person in the audience of a TV programme in a so called civilised country and you heard someone shout 'they want our jobs, get them out', you may feel rather unwelcome as well.
5. I'm a little sick and tired of the ridiculous attacks on remain voters. Where is it written that those of us who think the 52% got it wrong, should not be allowed to continue to voice our beliefs? We live in a civilised democracy!! Are we seriously suggesting brexiteers would have gone quiet with a 4% margin the other way?!
6. How is this need for parliamentary scrutiny not understood by so many. The whole bloody out campaign was founded on taking power back for our parliament, now some brexiteers think Mrs May should be allowed to cook up a deal in secret, without asking anyone what they think! She could get a deal that keeps our single market status, free movement and contributions to the EU budget, like Norway! Or she could go for a deal that results in crippling tariffs for business. Should either be allowed without democratic accountability!

My overwhelming opinion after QT and generally is that there are some who just need to grow up and engage in debate with a greater level of thought and maturity.

You are entitled to your opinion but it does conflict with your previous proclamation...

Why was it anti Imigrant? It was pro control.

After two thousand years of close proximity to the various European "Effects" I think it is reasonable for the Uk to seek to remain independent of other countries.

Trade yes

govern us absolutely not.

It seems if you dare suggest ensuring the concept of Britain you are a racist -allowed to debate for ever as long as you accept a European state....madness.

Or in English 'we don't mind being in the Club as long as we can dictate the rules for all the others and chose not to follow them ourselves'.

Anyway the Little Englanders will get their wish. Scotland is on the path to its own Brexit. The break up of 'Great' Britain is inevitable.

Again wrong. We never voted for a centralised European mega state back in 70s why because they don't work. We voted to join a common market. It should have stayed that way.

The remain concept seems to be let's hand over all control to someone in Brussels.

Luckily you are correct about one thing. We will be leaving the EU.
Scotland will be remaining part of Britain why? Because oddly,in a referendum there, the remain vote won.

It's known as democracy.

I am fairly confident they will win the next one. Once 'you' start claiming the right to govern yourself you should think about those who wish to be 'free from the control of Westminster'.
I bet your view of the Scots will be 'good riddance anyway, let them go the ungrateful bas**ar*s.' That is the usual view of a master of  his serf.

:D Well she is already here, was born here and holds a British passport so she is not German = why would she leave.

Maybe the people who so desperately want us to be assimilated by Europe should try living there....or even better move there.

I lived and worked in France for a year...if you think Brits are intolerant try livening in Nice......

I have also lived and worked in Saudi, Singapore,Hong Kong and PRC. They've all got a common approach in some ways.

.....if you hanker after another country / lifestyle

Go live there.

Like it or not for a variety of reasons a democratic referendum resulted in a vote to leave. We Will be leaving...the sooner the better.

Sweden will be next followed by holland, Denmark and probably France leaving brussels to kiss Germany's bum and rule.....Brussels

Oh dear. After a couple attempts at lying telling us you had nothing against foreigners you let the mask slip..

Conquered by the Normans (French) in 1066 and a fifedom of French Kings  for centuries afterwards. Now ruled by German Royals who changed their name to try and mask their European ancestry. Yes we certainly have nothing in common with Johny Dego.

I wonder who the mean small-minded  haters will turn on when the EU bogey man is gone. Be afraid that your group will be picked as the new scapegoat.

Ingerland......ingerland..............

;)Lol picked on by? The remnants of remain?

The reality is Europe didn't work, time to move on,leave your passport in departures when you fly to Brussels.

I agree entirely. If people living in one country hanker after living somewhere else they should do so. I shall pass this enlightened message on to the people waiting in shipping containers in Calais.
