Residents are being urged to make every effort to minimise the amount of waste they put in their green bins by making full use of the Council's kerbside recycling collections.

However, it must be stressed that Christmas wrapping paper, greetings cards containing glitter and polystyrene packaging are amongst the items that CANNOT currently be recycled in your grey bin. For full details of what can and cannot be recycled please go to the Council's website at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/recycle

Residents are also reminded that the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Burn Road will be open 8am-4.30pm every day, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

The Council will be collecting residents' unwanted real Christmas trees for recycling from January 6-30. Please put out your tree next to your brown bin on your green/brown bin collection day during this period.
