Classic HBC....

Just a whiff that it might be in line for a bit of extra cash was enough for meetings to be called on how to spend it and issue the Press Release telling us of pot-hole repairs and free swimming for the kids just in time for the May local elections.

Now it turns out that the deal isn't even finalised and there's still no sight of any actual money.

Let's hope we get a proper Chief Executive next time when Councillor Stubbs finally retires. Sadly, I fully expect the coalition to once again ignore the advice of the Local Government Association Peer Group to urgently bring in fresh blood and opt instead for a fully' on-message' insider.

Have heard on the grapevine that Mr Morton has sold one of the Domes and is also selling one of his other ventures, Mary Rowntrees on the Headland.

These videos are going to be interesting. I notice that the council is still waiting for the money from the domes. It's starting to look a bit dubious especially after CAB was so quick to get himself in The Mail and tell us how he was going to spend it - those free swimming sessions are starting to look a bit expensive.

Morton doesn't own Rowntrees, he's only renting it.
