The article below in the Mail provided the best message yet why Dave Stubbs has to go as Chief Executive. You couldn't put a razor blade between the CAB and Stubbs even to the point of repeating the lies about the reasons behind scrapping the local plan.

Notice that there's no mention of Wynyard in the reasons given. Compare that with Tory George Morris' statement that the Tories (and Labour) wouldn't support anything that didn't include the go ahead for the Wynyard housing development.

The established function of the Civil Service is to implement the policy of whatever Government happens to be in power while at the same time pointing out potential problems AND being prepared to point out to Governments when their actions contravene legal aspects.

Compare that to the attitude of Mr Stubbs who clearly thinks that it's his role to defend the actions of the Labour/Tory Coalition operating within HBC  to the point of acting as their spokesman.

You are so right. The man has to go.
