Title: Wilko fightback..................
Post by: mk1 on November 03, 2015, 04: PM
Strange entry on the Mail letter page. A woman called 'Wilkinson' is complaining that the Council are trying to 'take over ' Longscar despite the owners spending a large sum of money refurbishing the place.
Text to follow later.

The Hartlepool  Mail. Tuesday November 3rd 2015.  page 14

LONGSCAR
Owners have
shown willing

I think it is absolutely disgraceful that Hartlepool
Borough Council is seeking a compulsory purchase order
on The Longscar Centre, in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool.
The owners have shown willing, and are at present
carrying out a lot of work on the building, and have sub-
mitted architect drawn-up plans for the building.
    What more do they want?
Shame on you HBC for taking what belongs to some-
one else, and give compulsory purchase price to them
(minimum amount) when they are working on the
building.

          Dianne Wilkinson,
                     Hartlepool.

Maybe they should have done this 3 years ago.

God knows what games are being played here but the surname can't be a coincidence. What the Wilkies need to do right now is to get a planning application in to HBC, if they haven't already. If nothing else it should bring matters to a head.

Poses an interesting question in that, if the Longscar was to be brought back into use and lose its derelict status, would that not be enough?

It could blow Calamity Chris's Seaton Masterplan out of the water..... isn't it dependent on Esh being the chosen "Developer"

She has a point if the Wilkies follow up.

It just shows that the Leader of the Council can be just as deficient with the truth as his partner.
