I wonder if Able has put in a bid for these frigates?

If so and they did get the work for the dry docks at Greatham, would HBC again try to block the work?

The Great Dictator

Stig of the Seaton Dump

The last lot of ghost ships didn't appear to do anything for the town, good or bad.

....or have I got it wrong ?
I don't believe it.

The Great Dictator

They created employment but cost the local taxpayer £500,000 because the council objected to creating jobs.

tankerville

Sure they created jobs. But for E.U. Workers who stayed on site earning minimal wages or even less, Guest Houses and Hotels had little or no trade from Able U/K.

There was promise of lots of local labour employed if H.B.C. gave consent.

Question[/b ..]Do you know of anyone who was employed for Able U/K breaking up the Ghost Ships?

Hundred's of jobs for Hartlepool. Now that's got to be a joke .

I await replies with trepidation.

ABLE claimed that the work would bring in 1,500 jobs to the town.... I think the ABLE boss got the number of jobs mixed up with the number of tonnes of Asbestos that would be dumped in the town.

Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

Always the same.....jobs are cynically dangled in front of the town in order to persuade it and others to accept the unacceptable. 1500 jobs? What a joke - all we got was the asbestos - and somehow we always knew that's what would happen, didn't we?
