for fawkes sake

Can someone please explain to me why allegedly cash-strapped Hartlepool Council is spending even more money than the £1.5m to buy Jacksons Landing and then £40,000 to demolish it on Newcastle based Architects to produce drawing of 'what it could look like'.

Any future developer would surely have their own plans and would not be remotely interested in someone else's. What an utter waste of money.

Same goes for Longscar Hall.
Nice if you have the spare cash, but we don't,

A cash strapped council that claims its skint even though it has millions of pounds in a reserve bank account.

Can you imagine going to the council cap in hand waning Housing Benefit or any other kind of means tested benefit for that matter claiming you have no savings when in fact you have several millions, would you expect to receive Employment & Support allowance, JSA or Housing Benefit ?...., they would tell you to jog on.

So why year after year are we funding Hartlepool Borough Council, knowing full well they have sufficient funds to spread about to throw away on their half baked adventures and enough to sustain the Local Authority for years to come, if the roles were reversed and it was us with that much in the bank wanting means tested money from the government we would all be up for benefit fraud, so why when they send you a Council Tax Bill through the post its classed as legal ?

Hartlepool has one of the highest council taxes in the country, its likely to have the highest for many years to come until a government gets voted in with the balls to introduce legislation that will cap council tax rates to a nationally recognised level say £800.00 per year.

I find they buy another piece of cr@p from the wilkos and they are not getting another penny of Council Tax out of me and I will be prepared to go to jail for it.

Just think of it, Jail means no Council Tax paid to Hartlepool Council, no TV Licence, Free Bed, free meals, life would be better on the inside than out!

You wont get anywhere near a jail. Hartlepool Council are infamous for being one of the most aggressive pursuers of Council Tax defaulters and have even got into trouble for  getting judgements from people who do not owe anything because the Council are deliberately sending debt  letters to the wrong (old) addresses. The Council use one of the very worst Legal firms that specialise in debt-collection  and they will simply get a CC Judgement against you.  Unless you have no assets at all will end up paying in the end. If you own your own house they will place a charge on it (Council Tax debt plus  £1-3000 in legal fees) and let you  lie for a few years so the interest mounts up and then  they will take it and sell it to recover the debt.

I had 3 previous council tax accounts quashed at court only recently, Hartlepool Councils Backside dropped out when I produced evidence to show the bills were incorrect plus charges incurred for my administration and legal costs, turned out to be a major embarrassment for the council.

As for going to jail, I would stipulate again that I would be quite prepared to do a spell behind bars for refusing to pay for Hartlepool Councils spending sprees on sh**e as I do not believe that this is the appropriate way to be spending tax payers money, the money collected from council tax is designed for the running of essential council services, social care, bins, street cleansing etc, not buying up lumps of sh**e to sell for a loss to some mate of a mate who's full time job is to have their noses up a Labour Councillors bottom 24/7.

If the council wants to take me to court for it, fine, i know ive got more against them than they have against me, who knows what may have to be said in public.

As pompous and condescending on here as you are on the Bunker eh ?

BresslawoffoftheBunker

Rarely post on there.

Shouting 'I'm prepared to go to jail' is ridiculous and easy to say.   Let's just see how prepared if it gets anywhere near.
