Just as an aside to this - the planning inquiry into the CPO for the Longscar is currently taking place in the C of FE and is expected to last until tomorrow. In the course of the inquiry, it was revealed that HBC had offered £177,000 for the building. The inquiry is in public so anyone attending would have heard this; it's also reported in the Snail.

Funny thing is, the same information was 'pink-papered' by HBC when the CPO was discussed - clearly they didn't want the public to know even though they must have known it would eventually come out at the inquiry.

Open and Transparent? I don't think so ..... but a sign of just how over-used 'pink papering' is within HBC
Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

There`s more Openess &Transparancy in Pyongyang, than in HBC under the LabTorMob, I suppose we should be thankfull that we don`t `Yet` have the same Accountability, otherwise the population of the town would be down by several thousands.

£177K doesn't sound a lot for that much land, considering the Wilkinsons plans also include about 20 apartments.

You certainly couldn`t buy a pair of HBC Semis in Windermere Road for that LP....

Really clever move by CAB. Announce a new 'Master Plan'. Develop grandoise plans and only then see if you can buy a bit of land smack in the middle of your fantasy for a song.
Clever people would have secured it  first.

As we await the decision over the CPO - maybe a while - the latest rabbit is off with the formation of Shades Developments Ltd.  Similar modus operandi as Longsco.Ltd.  The trick seems to be throw a bit of the money at the building before the council can formally issue you with a CPO, this then allows you to claim a Disturbance Allowance increasing the settlement figure accordingly.  Nice work if you can get it.
