Just been informed that The Grand Hotel sale was completed succesfully this week.

Obviously the mail missed this one too.

Any remotely competent local paper would have known, what a pity we don't have one.

unfortunately these days the mail falls some way short of a competent newspaper

If someone told me a 'newspaper' was running a competition for the dog with the cutest eyes, best tap dancing goldfish or an headlines like...TOWN ASSET STRIPPED BUT COUNCIL HAVE CUNNING PLAN...or... EVERYTHING CLOSED DOWN BUT IT'S BETTER FOR US.. I know which paper would come to mind first.
