Perhaps because it's the silly season but there doesn't seem to be a lot going on at the moment in terms of local politics. The Mail is full of absolutely nothing at the moment.

one direction

Everything a politician does annoys someone! No matter what there will always be someone who disagrees and that's their vote gone forever. So say nothimg, do nothing, you upset no-one and in Hartlepool the inertia of the voters will get you through. Its only people trying to buck the system that need to get noticed and even then its a double edged sword since the higher the profile you adopt the more enemies you attract. So keep your head down, get re-elected and keep on drawing those allowances!

The trick is to only annoy those peop[le who do not vote for you. If you have a base of say 5000 who will always support you then it makes sense to  push policy that benefits them. The other lot are never going to vote for you no matter what you do. Wright seems to have started to alienate those he needs to keep him in office.

grim reaper

We need to keep reminding people of his lack of interest in keeping our A & E hospital open...and his duplicitous actions regarding the same.  >:(  >:(   >:(

His lack of initiatives in trying to solve the towns unemployment problems...he's so quick to blame the Tory/coalition but Labour were in power for 15 years and we got NOTHING from them!  >:(

We also need to remember the absolute scandal of the Manor Residents fiasco. Not one word of support for the employees robbed by a LABOUR councillor and all of the LABOUR councillors and our MP uttered not one word of condemnation for the illegal act.  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

We must also remember his inane comments regarding forcing the 'poor' people of Hartlepool into food banks.
Yet in the next breath he slates the betting shops for allowing the same 'poor' people of the town spend in excess of £22,000 a day on one armed bandits.  >:

The really sad thing is; the muppets of this town will continue to vote for and support him and the dingbats in the council chamber.  >:(  >:(

This town is in a cul-de-sac and I can't ever see it making it to the main road.
At least, not whilst we have Pinky, Perky and Wrighty at the helm.  >:(

Perhaps it's not surprising that things have been quiet considering the story on the front page. Talk about the 'calm before the storm'  ::)
