Title: Waterfront Festival
Post by: testing times on July 17, 2017, 12: PM
"The Waterfront Festival takes place on the site formerly known as Jacksons Landing in the heart of Hartlepool Marina, and will mark the beginning of the Hartlepool Regeneration Masterplan."

Just how many false starts do these so-called regeneration plans need?

Jaws, how fitting. An attention seeking predator causing damage to the economy of a seaside town.

What is it with these people? We have their little shows and circuses that pop up like a dog having it's attention caught by someone with a ball thrown into the distance. We are promised the earth and nothing ever happens, but some distraction pops up .

Had a walk around The Marina yesterday evening with the Missus. It was a lovely evening but I couldn't help noticing that the numbers in the restaurants and bars at Navigation Point were well down on what I'd seen in previous years. We did the full circle passed the former Garlands buildings, the Historic Quay and back to the Car Park at the Premier Inn.

It's patently clear that the area suffers from serious neglect. The Wingfield Castle is now a rusting hulk and no one n their right mind would take their eyes off the walking surfaces for too long for fear of tripping and going full length. If such neglect is their idea of how to pull in more visitors then it shows just how clueless these buffoons really are. Why, for example, do they not stick a paint brush in the hands of those doing community service or are they, like everything else, based in Middlesbrough now??

It's becoming patently obvious how incapable the junta are at running the town. They bring all the skills of running a fairground stall to running a town and it's got to the stage where it really is beginning to show their parish pump politics for what they are.
Nothing of any consequence ever happens just a bunch of clueless old duffers offering their little sideshow  events while everything thing is crumbling around us, yet gleefully sign up for the local government equivalent of kneecap finance to ensure the prosperity of other members while we pay the bill for apparently minimum return.
Wild flowers, illusory 'visions' and 'events' can't mask the neglect of our town.
