SLP footnote.

I realised I'd missed out one minor topic from Kev's 'Ode to the Nation'. But, this topic to me was a microcosm of this what I call this Sore Losers Party farce.
I never for one minute thought of them as either Labour or Socialists from the start, but political chancers and opportunists. When the the penny finally dropped even with the 'me dad voted Labour' portion of the electorate they knew the game was up. They swam to the nearest thing afloat once they grudgingly realised their ship of state was sinking and the  good ship SLP  was happy to pull them aboard.
The question is why? Well, it has the word 'Labour'  in it which they may believe is useful, but the SLP is a comfy fit for them, they can carry on with the fantasy as they can then sell themselves as a sort of 'Labour' and hope no one notices. Self delusional. But surely this is their final stand in the bunker moment, because I cannot see a rump of a Party as popular as an outbreak of rabies in a guide dog puppies kennels surviving. But let's be frank, what else could they do, because I can think of no other 'job' they could do.

But, back to the footnote on Kev's leaflet which was referring to restoring bus services and here's my gripe......
Dear Kev, your party leadership decided to cut bus subsidies to the bone as quick as a rat up a drainpipe effectively isolating those without access to alternative/affordable public transport. Your decision was the first and only in the North East amongst all councils to have such drastic cuts.
Then along comes the political context. It's blamed on 'the cuts'. Aaah now I see a line emerging. So, what can largely classed as your share of the electorate are made to suffer so you can blame it on the cuts....?
Meanwhile the other councils realised they had a duty to protect and provide those without access to public transport, compare and contrast.
So it's a bit rich to restore services YOUR party devastated.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

Bit of a waste of energy even commenting on Kev's nonsense...bit like commenting on the Flat Earth Society claims......Cranney has a long history of failed businesses ...why would ANYONE trust him as an MP......
The Morons seemed to have gone but so have the normals.....

Topcat

My first thought when I heard that Cranney was standing as MP was that he was only there as an act of spite against the Labour party by the ex Labour party members, they knew that he had no chance at all of winning but they were hoping that they would draw enough "loyal" votes to spoil Dave Hills chances.I will not be voting for either party it's time the town had a change in Parliament.

Disagree. You have to challenge this stuff as not everyone is aware that every story has two sides to it.

Lost me .....so Cranney has never been bankrupt and was never told by a judge basically he should never be running a business? I have search high and low but I am sure he was commented on by a judge years ago.

Ahhh the MK1 Oracle ......

BUSINESS BAN FOR FORMER COUNCILLOR

FORMER councillor who ran up debts of more than £300,000 at a security firm has been banned from running a business for five years. Kevin Cranney, who represented the Rift House ward in Hartlepool until 1997, carried on trading with Mutual Securities months after he knew it was insolvent. He failed to pay off creditors and ran up huge debts in the hope a buyer could be found for the failed firm. The company eventually wound up in February 1996 owing 305,615. Yesterday s successful director s disqualification at Newcastle County Court brings to an end a four-year legal battle for 44-year-old Mr Cranney which has seen him cleared of theft but ultimately fail as a businessman. The hearing was brought by the secretary of state for trade and industry who felt that Mr Cranney was incompetent as a director of Mutual Securities. Prosecutor Jonathan Holmes said Mr Cranney hid behind a series of fraudulent transactions carried out by dishonest staff members that ultimately turned profits into losses. But instead of rectifying the wrongdoing, he turned a blind eye while the debts built up. You should have known what was going on. You re the director, said Mr Holmes. This wasn t even rectified after directors had their fingers burned not once but twice by previous staff. Mr Cranney was invited onto the board of Mutual Securities the trading arm of the Owton Fens Community Association as an unpaid non-executive director in 1992. His knowledge of fundraising and grant applications was seen as useful. The company s aim was to find security guard work for people from areas of high unemployment or decline. Contracts included Hartlepool Borough Council, Mill House Leisure Centre and a nightclub. The company began to do well but the fraudulent activities of two former employees led to its ultimate downfall. Specifically, accounts manager Alan Hart jailed for six months in 1996 for stealing almost 12,000 from the firm to fund a luxury lifestyle. Hart was responsible for paying creditors as well as the monthly Inland Revenue and VAT returns. But he failed to cough up for months on end, instead telling directors, including Mr Cranney, that everything was under control. Mr Cranney, of Stockton Road, Hartlepool, should never have accepted that explanation, argued Mr Holmes. Addressing District Judge John Wilson, Mr Holmes said: Mr Cranney knew what the position was but there was no howl of outrage. Mr Cranney told you that he never trusted Mr Hart, that he thought he was lazy, that he wasn t putting in the returns but he did nothing about it. Defending, barrister Matthew Caswell said the court needed to be satisfied that Mr Cranney was unfit to run a company. He has been an honest, trustworthy and efficient director, he said. But District Judge Wilson disagreed and banned him for five years. He must also pay costs the level of which have yet to be decided. Speaking after the case, Mr Cranney said he felt he had been let down by justice. This has been hanging round me for four years but at least everyone said it was not for self gain it was for people and jobs.

What a surprise the Mail page no longer exists.....

Maybe somebody should send a link to that to Tice ;)

Most people won't know about Cranney, just because we do? So sending out a reminder does no harm whatsoever.

Well Hubris can pass this on to Tice and we know there are Corbynites here....

Like I said, SLP stands for 'Sore Losers Party' and they're putting up the nearest thing they have to a 'sophisticate' (which shows how desperate they are) to grab as many Labour votes. They only have a few months left,  then they'll all be history so it's the last writhings and lashing out as the end gets ever closer.
The hilarious thing is he has a manifesto, but if the planets aligned and he got elected, he'd be the only MP and couldn't do sod all about it so he can promise the moon, he's never gonna be asked to produce it. Fantasists.

Sounds exactly like the position The Brexit Party will be in on Dec 13th. Trice knows this so he can promise the earth with the certain knowledge he will never be in a position to deliver any of it.

Inspector Knacker

I know, but that's of no concern to me, Hill will be gone.

If he looses Hill will not 'be gone'.  He lives in Hartlepool. If Tice looses I can 100% guarantee he will never set foot in Hartlepool again in his entire life.
I guess what you are saying is there is a new snake-oil salesman in town and you will give his medicine a try in the full knowledge that his promises are just as hollow as the last carpetbagger.
It is good to see people of Hartlepool still strive and  'aim for the stars'.

Lucy Lass-Tick

Suspect that there'll be one hell of a protest vote come December 12th.

so let's all vote conservative?
