It was on TV today about four beaches in the North East.  They brushed over it in my opinion saying it is due to new stringent measures as if they were over the top?

It's all a load of Bollocks I'm down there most days winter & summer the water is as clear as can be, after all we're hardly going to drink it are we?

Rain water from the land spilling into the Tees has an effect on the quality due to chemicals.

I'm sure there are many on this site who remember years past the standing joke.

You didn't go to Seaton Carew for a swim.

You just went through the motions.

Is this a diversion from the land and airborne pollution at Seaton ?

Scarborough South Bay is one of the most popular open water swimming spots in the country.  It's perfectly fine for bathing. Staithes I've not ventured into despite visiting a number of times.

Not a fan of swimming at Seaton but that's more to an unfortunate childhood experience at the Blue Lagoon more than any worries on cleanliness.

Mind you, no matter where do any open water swimming I always get out and drink a full can of flat coke to kill any nasties I may have ingested.
