Refusing the cabinet is not a dereliction of duty, most would-be councillors don't even know what the cabinet is.

It also eats into your time and other duties.

The budget and policy framework within which the Cabinet needs to operate is already set for the year ahead however there will still be many difficult decisions to be made.  The Cabinet needs to work closely with Scrutiny in order to strengthen the decision making process over the course of the year and be able to adapt quickly and be decisive in this fast changing environment.

So, its official, madge will be running the show.

I thought the SCABs had left the cabinet?

Pray tell, what is the point on being in 'the cabinet' when, as we have witnessed, any decision they arrive at is overruled by the stalinist ruling party?  :o
They were made to be fools by their own breed and I can't see anyone going to put their name forward...although I don't know...there's money to be made.

That said, anyone that was considering would have to be vetted by the ginger one first and she would lay down the ground rules of how, what, when and where they vote!  :-X

Never mind forgive and forget, the cabinet members that spent nine months of allowance bowing down to one leader then swapping to another at the conclusion is gross misconduct.

We need to start setting out hours involved and anyone taking a position should be monitored with regards to the duties they sign up to.

Don't worry, not forgetting the Councillor remit.  We should also be logging performance.  Is this going to happen on HTH.  Not being hypocritical is necessary as it simply justifies secrecy and collusion.  Do not prevent transparency by slating Councillors without proof that any concerns are appropriately justified or neglect of duty can be brushed over.  It should be about accountability and that is it!

I wasn't there so don't know if/what happened but that's what I was told and I believe in good faith.

If it is true, is there any other incident of this kind of conduct.

Totally agree, it will be interesting to see what PHF get in the round table discussions to be held today. As for Gus whilst I wouldn't want to speak ill of the dead, he was deleted, even Ann Widdecombe wouldn't stand next to him on the TV film.

Half of Whitehall are deleted but he did a lot more for socialism in Hartlepool than you have and let's face it Ann Widdecombe is allergic to men..

... so if you didn't want to speak, why did you ? ::)
