Title: Another Pipe Dream
Post by: marky on June 20, 2012, 06: PM
Another Pipe Dream to add to the list. I'm beginning to think these things surface just to give the Hartlepool Mail something to write about: Trams, Floating Hotels, War Museums, Tall Ships Centres . . . we've had (or haven't had) them all. Note that Middlesbrough is the only town whose project went ahead - nothing much changes does it?

A dropped idea but how many pen-pushers earned a decent salary from the idea and how much other money was spent as a result. The designers, sorry, 'artists', would have been paid handsomely for their drawings and perhaps even land bought. Teeside Regeneration have now changed their name to Tees Valley Unlimited. It reminds me of those dodgy double-glazing and roofing companies that disappear overnight and re-emerge the next week under a new name.

The town will get nothing until it ditches Labour for at least one term Stockton and Redcar ditched one Labour MP each and all of a sudden money is available and all the political paries are now interested in the town.
Make us a marginal and see what happens........
