According to this morning's BBC Local News SAB has resigned from the Council  - if it were only true.  Can't see him ditching £16000 in a hurry

Should he retain any positions he holds on any committees as the only Councillor of a minority Party?

Isn't the allocation of committee positions supposed to be proportional?

If a new Councillor came in from the 'Unicorn and Plumbers Party', would they be given a similar portfolio?
He was in the majority Party, he left it of his own choice and made a public display of cutting up his card to sever his ties. Now he's a Councillor of no consequence,  so why the generous portfolio? It must be reviewed.

I wonder if SAB has actually bothered to do his homework about the performance of SLP candidates before he signed up?

As far as I can see they've only ever had 5 councillors across the entire country since being formed by Arthur Scargill in 1996, and two of those 5 are SAB and Barclay! Lol

The other 3 were also Labour defectors who jumped ship  in early 2014 and ALL 3 lost their seats a few months later to the new official labour candidates.

Typically a socialist Labour Party candidate pulls between 4-9% of the vote at local level.

In 2018 the SLP fielded just 3 candidates at local level across the entire country. So as it stands currently SAB and Barclay ARE the socialist Labour Party in terms of democratically elected members holding public office.

They contested 251 seats at general election level over 13 years winning . . . ZERO. 12 by-elections winning . . . ZERO. Umpteen at European and regional assembly level . . . Winning ZERO. 

As far as I can see they'll literally never had anyone win a seat in anything via the ballot box.

In fact, out of all the 263 candidates they've fielded at national level, Stephen Picton polled more votes than 262 of their candidates.

It should turn out to be quite funny, SAB joins a political party and within two weeks he'll be their only councillor. Then, give it a year and they'll be none at all.

Barclay kept his seat with 1573 votes in 2015.

He'll do well to get 200 this time.

Oh and one other thing, SAB proudly led the remain campaign in Hartlepool in the EU referendum . . . Now he's joined a party as staunchly euro-sceptic as UKIP. Lol

It had been any non labour councillor (or indeed even certain labour ones) they would have probably been left with an on the spot fine for littering.

It appears the BBC spiked SAB's big 'expose'. He really, really believes his delusions and  in his self-proclaimed whistleblower  status.    Yesterday Look North mentioned him several times throughout the day accompanied by  a film clip of   turnip-head talking but mercifully it was muted. We know he did a full interview because  he was so excited about his day in the sun it and told all his friends to watch out for it. I presume when the shows editors got to hear what a rambling simplistic w*n*er he is they (after the stopped laughing) decided it was not fit for broadcast. SABs big day done come and gone and we did not get to see the fat lady sing.

I am guessing his resignation from the Socialist Labour Party will be at the same time as his mother and Father Jack-the morning after the count for their two seats!

Is SAB classed as a vunerable adult due to his below average intellect? If he is, the BBC has taken advantage of him and caused his hallucinations and delusional state to intensify
