Another great news story to publicise where Hartlepool tops the worst of list

Tip charges introduced and 90,000 spent on high tech bins that hardly encourage recycling for starters sets the example.

Not surprising though as The blue bins are usually full of contaminated un-recyclables whenever I see one blown over in a Street

Maybe the solution is recycling some Councillors?

How would you tell the plastic from the cardboard?

If you have a Recycling Centre that's free to use then start charging for it's use - guess what - Recycling at the aforesaid centre goes down - now that may be obvious to most people - but then most people are not members of the Neighbourhood Services committee or even councillors.
What makes it even worse is that these figures were available when they decided to start charging.

If any recyclable waste has food waste still on it, the full truck worth of waste is classed as contaminated and dumped. Hose it or get the people on community service to sift through it and sort out what can be recycled to what can't...

Inspector Knacker

It also doesn't help when the recycling facility works office hours and unbelievably closes for lunch.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

is it just me that sees the irony that Hartlepool has a number of companies who recycle the waste of other local authorities, yet is failing to deal with its own waste in a sustainable way.
