HBC has reported in the mail that it cost £6400 to clear tyres which had been dumped over a period of five days. I wonder how much it has cost in total for increased clean up operations, due to the charges at the dump?

Inspector Knacker

Bottom line is cost of clean up v tyre charge payments received.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

Will there be end of year accounts for the cost of fly tipping v income from Burn Road ?
If it's cost £6500 to remove the tyres then cost of their disposal I can't see Burn Valley taking that much income over 5 days.

The cost of disposing of a tyre at the Burn Road Dump is..... £3.20, whilst there is no excuse for fly tipping that fee is a deterent for some people, however the council spokesman is naive in the extreme if he is surprised by the number of tyres / fly tipping incidents that are now occuring all over the town.

It was obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse that fly tipping would increase dramatically when charges were introduced...... It just wasn`t obvious to the council and it`s councillors.

Especially to Cranney who said quite categorically there will be no increase in fly tipping

Wait till spring.......there will be rubbish mounds growing over the town quicker than flowers

People are dumping freezers, sofas etc. directly under people's windows at the marina. HBC refuse to remove it stating that it is private land so not their responsibility.

No help from HBBC and a rise in council tax to look forward to

He'll rebrand fly tipping as Charges for Rubbish Are Pointless!

he couldn't spell it never mind say it  ;D ;D
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment
